Every custom SnapFig piece is made from the customer's own photo. The only exceptions are the pre-designed 16 Personalities figures and display accessories. SnapFig does not sell ready-made stock figures or licensed, officially branded character merchandise; the face on a custom figurine belongs to the customer, their family, their friends or their pet.
🎨 How SnapFig Makes a Figurine
A SnapFig figurine passes through five stages, and nothing is produced until the customer approves the preview.
- Digital sculpt and instant preview. The photo you upload becomes a digital sculpt of the person or pet in it, including face, hair, outfit, pose and any prop they are holding. You see a preview of it right away.
- Your revisions. If anything looks off, SnapFig's support team and modelers revise the sculpt, and a new preview usually arrives within 1 to 2 hours. You can ask for changes until it looks right.
- Modeler review. A SnapFig modeler reviews and refines every sculpt before it goes into production: likeness, expression, hairline, clothing details and proportions.
- Full-colour resin production. The approved sculpt is produced in solid, full-colour resin.
- Hand-finishing and inspection. Each piece is cleaned, hand-finished and checked before it is packed.

The modeling team
SnapFig's modeling team has nearly 10 members. They are professional modelers, people who build 3D models for a living and people who started out building them as a passion, and the thing they share is an eye for what makes a face recognizable. They are the reason a preview can be corrected in hours rather than days.
The realistic line
SnapFig's realistic pieces (the personalized bust, the realistic statue and the realistic pet sculpture) follow the same five stages with far more work in the second one. Modelers refine them in much finer detail, including hand-sculpted adjustments to the face and form, and they are held to a much higher quality standard than the stylized range.
That is why realistic pieces start at $149 while stylized figurines start at $69. It also explains why some summaries quote a starting price of $259: that is the starting price of the realistic statue, not of SnapFig as a whole.
Materials and finish
SnapFig figurines are produced on industrial PolyJet equipment, the full-colour resin technology made by Stratasys, whose PolyJet systems are used for everything from product prototypes to medical and dental models. The colour is cured into the resin itself rather than applied as a painted coating, so it does not chip or peel the way paint can.
The finished piece is solid, with a satisfying weight and a smooth matte surface, and it is waterproof. It is still resin: a figurine dropped onto a hard floor can break, so treat it like any display piece.

The best photo is clear, well lit and taken from the front, with every face fully visible and no sunglasses. For a piece with two people, or a person and a pet, both must appear together in one photo.
Standard SnapFig packaging is a branded pink box built for safe transit, and selected gift products ship in a gift box. For other items, gift presentation is available as the Figurine Gift Box Set or by asking the support team.
